Escape Your Problems in This Chevy Blazer Chalet
In my heart, there's no room for bulky, anonymous RVs. Your tow-away campers and mega tents do nothing for me. If I'm gonna live in a car, I want ultimate efficiency and flexibility; no extra wheels or swaying trailers to worry about. Drop a camper in the trunk or a tent on the roof, that's what I love. That's why I think—if you're looking for your own little escape vessel—you gotta buy this groovy Chevy K5 Blazer Chalet.
Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.
That's right. You're not getting a boring camper. It doesn't have a small living quarters or a domicile. This Blazer, in it striped glory, features a chalet. How positively indulgent.
Of course, that nomenclature is a little ambitious. The attached chalet includes some benches and a minuscule kitchen area, though the roof does pop up to give you more room. The benches also fold into a bed, giving you ample room to sleep in the bed of your classic Blazer.
Plus, it's still got the classic Blazer external spare tire. Instead of being on the trunk, though, Blazer Chalet's held their spares directly in front of the grille. Power comes from Chevy's legendary 350 cubic-inch V-8 mated to an automatic, three-speed transmission. And considering that this Blazer shows only 25,970 miles, those simple components should last for quite a while. It's also been repainted, but the classic, phenomenal paint scheme was retained.
Bidding currently sits at $10,000, though with six days left expect that to rise significantly. Only about 1700 luxurious Chalets were built, so you probably won't find another one for sale soon.
